And after seven days, the floodwaters came on the earth. For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark above the earth. Only eight persons obeyed the words that God commanded Noah. The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days. After the waters where receded from the earth, then God said to Noah: "Come out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and their wives. Bring out every kind of living creature that is with you…so they can multiply on the earth and be fruitful and increase in number upon it. I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you. I have set my rainbow in the clouds and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.” All the surface of the earth was transformed with the flood. Noah and his family found a new and different earth to the one they saw before entering the ark.
